Small Volume Dissolution and Membrane Permeation Measurement System 'μDISS・μFLUX'

It is possible to evaluate elution and membrane permeability simultaneously with a small volume!

*μDISS This is a system that combines the Rainbow and Mini-Bath manufactured by Pion. It uses a 25mL glass vial, allowing for solubility measurements in small volumes. In addition to solubility measurements, it can also be used for salt screening and supersaturation evaluation. *μFLUX This is a system that combines a dedicated H-shaped chamber. By using two probes from the Rainbow, it is possible to evaluate dissolution on the donor side and membrane permeability (absorption) on the acceptor side, separated by an artificial membrane. It allows for the evaluation of the effects of formulations on dissolution and membrane permeability, as well as the impact of meals.

[Case Study of Membrane Permeability Measurement System] Evaluation of Membrane Permeability Using μFLUX

Explaining the effect of pH modifiers on the membrane permeability of diclofenac!

We would like to introduce a case study on the application of the membrane permeability measurement system "μFLUX." In our previous research, we developed a sustained-release formulation containing an alkalizer, and we attempted to apply this device to evaluate its usefulness in reducing gastric mucosal damage caused by DC. In this study, we only simulated the pH environment, but incorporating other components such as lipids and proteins is expected to lead to a more accurate evaluation. 【Case Overview】 ■ Study - Evaluated the impact of pH fluctuations in the microenvironment caused by the alkalizer on the membrane permeability of the acidic drug DC using μFLUX. ■ Results - It was demonstrated that μFLUX could be a useful tool not only for evaluating drug absorption but also for assessing the risk of side effects caused by drug accumulation in tissues. *For more details, please download the PDF or feel free to contact us.
